The NHL will play four regular-season games and two pre-season contests in Europe in 2022-23, marking the first games outside North America since 2019, the league announced on Thursday.

The Nashville Predators, San Jose Sharks, Colorado Avalanche and Columbus Blue Jackets will play in the 2022 NHL Global Series.
The Predators and Sharks will open the 2022-23 season with two games in Prague on Oct. 7 and 8.
The Blue Jackets and Avalanche play in Tampere, Finland, for two games on Nov. 4 and 5. Tampere is the hometown of Blue Jackets scorer Patrik Laine and GM Jarmo Kekäläinen.
The Predators will play a pre-season game against SC Bern of the Swiss league in Bern on Oct. 3, while the Sharks play a pre-season contest against Eisbaren Berlin of the German League in Berlin on Oct. 4.
The NHL played 32 pre-season games and 28 regular-season games in Europe from 2007-11 and 2017-19.
