Northbound lanes of Eastex Freeway near downtown closed after fatal crash, HPD says

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — All northbound lanes on the Eastex Freeway near downtown are closed after a fatal crash on Sunday morning, according to police.

According to the Houston Police Department, the crash was reported just before 4 a.m. As of 8 a.m., lanes were still closed.

Details are limited as investigators work to learn what led to the crash and how many vehicles were involved.

No other injuries have been reported.
