The two-day national executive meeting of the Indian Journalists Union (IJU) concluded on Sunday in Chandigarh.
On the first day of the gathering, Punjab Minister of Information and Public Relations Chetan Singh Jauramajra attended the event as the chief guest.
According to IJU, nearly 100 journalists from 20 states attended the meeting which was held under the theme of “save journalism.” Union Chairman Srinivas Reddy, Former Chairman SN Sinha, General Secretary Balwinder Singh Jammu and Andhra Pradesh CM Media Advisor Amar Devlapalli and other union members attended the event. The IJU has called on journalists and all those who value the values of democracy to observe March 23, the day of Shaheed Bhagat Singh’s martyrdom, as the “day of salvation of journalism”.
