Pakistan and China on Monday signed six important documents to expand and accelerate cooperation under the billionaire China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Project. P.M Shehbaz Sharif and Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng witnessed the signing ceremony held to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the CPECwhat CONECT gwadar port with the Chinese province of Xinjiang and India being opposed as it is being put up via PoK.
Sharif said that, so far, more than $25 billion worth of investments have been made under the CPEC in the energy and hydrogen sector and road infrastructure.
“We are now entering the second phase of the CPEC that will contemplate investments in sectors such as agriculture and IT,” he said.
