Pakistan is cracking down on illegal dollar trading after the rupee hit a new all-time low this month and the crackdown is showing signs of initial success.
“The repression against people involved in the illegal trade of dollars and smuggling continues,” said the Minister of Information. Murtaza Solangi he said in a mobile phone message on Friday. Illegal trades include buying or selling dollars without any registration and remittances through informal channels.
