Pakistan opposition forms six-way alliance to challenge government

ISLAMABAD — Pakistan’s six opposition parties, including former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), have allied with the explicit goal of toppling the incumbent government.

The alliance, Tehreek Tahafuz Ayeen-i-Pakistan (Movement for the Protection of the Constitution of Pakistan) on Saturday held its inaugural political gathering in the Pishin city of Balochistan, a southwestern province, with a show of power.
