Islamabad (Pakistan), April 25 (ANI): Poverty in Pakistan and inflation in these months have made life extremely difficult for poor people, Pak vernacular media reported.

director of the Pakistan Institute for Labor Education and Research (ARROWS), Ummat Ali, told the Express Daily that inflation in recent months has made life challenging for poor people.
He said that considering the rate of inflation and rising prices, the government should do minimum wage of (PKR) 50,000 per month. Referring to the World Bank Report, Ummat Ali added that more than 83 percent of households earn less than $2, but the government did not take any action on the World Bank report, according to Express Daily.
On the other hand, the unions also failed to obtain any benefits since most of the workers were not registered. Anyone who raises their voice against management is thrown out as most of them don’t have proper appointment papers and can’t get legal help.
According to different reports, more than 5 million have lost their jobs in the last few months and the situation is worse in rural areas where women also work in the fields all day but cannot earn more than USD 2.
The level of inflation in Pakistan in March it was 35.4%, which had a great impact on purchasing power.
While the Punjab government recently announced an increase in the minimum wage to (PKR) 32,000 per month, Ali said there is no mechanism in place to ensure implementation of the government order or to check which industrial and commercial houses are paying what to your employees.
He predicted that every worker should receive at least (PKR) 50,000 per month to cover the costs of necessities, including food, clean water, education and healthcare.
Ali went on to say that the current economic crisis has caused an increase in unemployment in Pakistanwith estimates putting the number of unemployed at five million.
In Pakistanthe increasing rate of unemployment and the denial of basic rights is now causing people to become violent, and there is also an increase in street crime and robbery.
Furthermore, the lack of minimum wage in Pakistan it has led to poor living conditions for most workers.
Amid mounting economic difficulties, people are literally struggling to bear the brunt of frequent increases in gas and electricity rates and general inflation. Pakistan vernacular media reported. (ME TOO)
