NEW DELHI: A biology professor in Pakistan has issued a public apology for instructing Charles Darwin‘s concept of evolution, elevating considerations about rising extremism, freedom of expression and the free alternate of scientific concepts in Pakistan, the Specific Tribune reported.
Sher Ali, who’s assistant professor of Biology on the Authorities Publish Graduate Faculty of Bannu in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, made his apology official by issuing it on a stamp paper.
The controversy surrounding Professor Ali started when he organized a seminar on “girls’s rights in Islam and the structure” which was in response to native protests in opposition to girls who weren’t adhering to Islamic costume codes when leaving their houses.
Spiritual circles and clerics strongly opposed the seminar, accusing Professor Sher Ali of selling concepts that deviated from Islamic teachings which in the end led to the professor’s choice to concern a public apology for his actions.
Previous to this, Professor Sher Ali had expressed frustration at being focused for merely fulfilling his obligation as an educator by instructing Darwin’s concept of evolution.
He argued that his instructing supplies adhered to the curriculum established by the training board, and recommended that if students had considerations, they need to pursue authorized avenues for decision, the report stated.
This incident has ignited considerations concerning the restriction of mental discourse and the curtailment of educational freedom within the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa area.
