Pakistan’s textile exports see massive drop

Exports of textile products have seen a 10 per cent year-on-year decline during the first quarter of the current fiscal year.

According to data from the Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA), exports of textile products generated $4.12 billion in foreign exchange from July to September. This is a 10% decrease from the same period in the previous fiscal year, when textile exports were valued at $4.59 billion.

Exports of textile products reached $1.35 billion in September 2023, a drop of 12% compared to the same month of the previous year.

According to other data, total exports of textile products fell by 18% between January and September 2023, to 11.90 billion dollars, compared to the same period of the previous year, when they reached 14.53 billion dollars.
