Paris Olympics 2024 India, Day 11 LIVE Updates: Neeraj Chopra and Kishore Kumar Jena will begin their campaigns with qualification in men’s javelin throw on Tuesday. One of the most consistent javelin throwers in recent times, Chopra will look to keep things simple and get over the automatic qualification mark of 84m with minimum fuss. The other Indian in fray in men’s javelin is Kishore Jena, who booked an automatic berth with his 87.54m throw in the Asian Games last year, has struggled to cross the 80m mark after that. His task will be cut out.
In a rematch of the bronze medal contest that India won famously in Tokyo, Harmanpreet Singh’s men take on reigning world champions Germany in what promises to be another tough contest. India will be without the suspended Amit Rohidas.
Vinesh Phogat has endured a couple of heartbreaking Olympic campaigns in the past, but managed to qualify for Paris by going down to the 50kg. But she faces a massive test against the defending champ right off the bat.
In Table Tennis, Manika Batra and Co began their campaign with a 3-2 win against Romania to reach the quarterfinals. But the men’s team face a huge ask to follow suit as they begin their campaign against the mighty Chinese.
