Perth man stabbed outside Malaysian nightclub while on holiday

A Perth man is in intensive care in a Malaysian hospital after being stabbed and beaten outside a nightclub while on holiday.

Luke Jeffers, 26, became involved in a brawl in the early hours of Friday in Kuala Lumpar, with the attack caught on video and making local media reports.

The confronting vision showed the Australian tourist heavily outnumbered before being left on the floor in a pool of his own blood.

“The superintendent said one of the men used a sharp object to cause injuries to the victim’s neck body and palms,” a Malaysian newsreader said.

“Police have detained three men aged between 20 and 30 in connection with the brawl.”

Jeffers’ sister claimed the attack was unprovoked.

He suffered a broken back, an eight centimetre slash to his neck and a life-changing cut to his left hand. He remains in intensive care after undergoing a lengthy surgery.

A GoFundMe page set up to support the Perth man claimed his holiday to Malaysia was a last-minute decision, and that he did not have travel insurance.
