He first appeared in court on May 8 on an unknown charge. In June, Midland Detectives charged him with indecently recording a child under 13 and possession of child exploitation material after the photos were allegedly found on his personal electronic devices.

The 21-year-old was rearrested on Friday and further charged with 27 counts of unlawful access to a restricted access computer system, and 40 counts of indecent recording of a child under 13 years.

He reappeared in court on Monday to face the further 67 charges, and a suppression order was issued restricting publication of the man’s name, image or anything that may identify him.

On Friday, his legal representative acknowledged the magistrate only learnt of the additional counts on Monday and asked her to acknowledge the man’s indication to enter a guilty plea of possessing child exploitation material.
