WANA (Sep 09) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei announced that the Iranian President is scheduled to travel to India on Friday or Saturday to attend the upcoming BRICS summit, underscoring the strategic importance Tehran places on multilateral partnerships.
Speaking on the diplomatic visit, Baghaei described the upcoming trip to India as highly significant, noting Iran’s commitment to expanding ties through major global blocs.
“Multilateral arrangements, including the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and the BRICS group, hold great importance for the Islamic Republic of Iran,” Baghaei said, highlighting the expansion of these organizations into various economic and commercial sectors in recent years.
He added that the summit presents a valuable opportunity for Iran to engage in bilateral discussions with member states and to articulate Tehran’s positions on key regional and international issues.
During his remarks, the spokesperson also touched upon regional cultural ties, emphasizing that pilgrimage tourism is not merely a travel sector for Iran, but a crucial cultural and religious priority.
