A person in his 60s has died after his microlight plane crashed in Western Australia‘s Wheatbelt area. 

Emergency providers have been referred to as to the scene of the crash on Little Hill Street in Beverley, about 130km southeast of Perth, at about 11am AWST on Saturday.

The pilot, a person believed to be in his 60s, was significantly injured within the crash and was later confirmed to have died on the scene of the tragedy.

It is understood he was the one particular person onboard the aircraft.

A pilot controls a microlight plane by shifting its centre of gravity, in response to the Civil Aviation Security Authority.

Such an plane may need a two or four-stroke engine.

Cops, St John Ambulance crew and Division of Fireplace and Emergency Companies officers attended the crash scene.

Recreation Aviation Australia has been notified of the demise and police will put together a report for the coroner.
