PM Imran says Pakistan is ready to be a partner for peace in Afghanistan

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan stated on Monday, in an article that Pakistan is all for peace in Afghanistan but will not host US bases.

In order to avoid further conflict, US bases will withdraw from Pakistan. On the other hand, Pakistan is ready to be a partner for peace in Afghanistan with the United States.

Moreover, Imran Khan wrote that Pakistan and the United States have the same interest in that constantly suffering region i.e. a political settlement, stability, economic development and the denial of any haven for terrorists. We oppose any military takeover of Afghanistan, which will lead only to decades of civil war, as the Taliban cannot win over the whole of the country, and yet must be included in any government for it to succeed.

He also stated that history has proved that Afghanistan cannot be controlled from outside, so maintaining a cordial relationship has become necessary.

Pakistan cannot host US bases anymore because they will be used to bomb Afghanistan, yet again disrupting peace and will further push Pakistan into a target for revenge at the hands of the terrorists.

Furthermore, the PM also added that allowing the CIA in Pakistan and using the country’s soil for such reasons can only lead to destabilization. And that Pakistan cannot afford this anymore.
