PM Khan wins voluntary vote of confidence in NA

Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan has won the voluntary vote of confidence of the National Assembly (NA), on Saturday marking a hall-mark in the history of the country’s political front. 

Earlier today, 178 members of National Assembly (NA) submitted their vote of confidence in the PM while all members of coalition opposition party, PDM boycotted the session. 

According to the experts of parliamentary matters, the incidence of the PM’s realization that the candidate with the majority party has lost the mandate has occurred for the first time in the history of the country. 

As per history, on April 18, 1993, former President Ghulam Ishaq Khan dissolved the assemblies. It was restored by the Supreme Court on May 26, 1993 and the next day the National Assembly session was convened.

Whereas the session consequenced in take-over of vote of confidence by the former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, through a resolution. It is pertinent to be stated here that 123 members out of 210 casted their vote in his favour.
