The 100th episode of Mann ki Baat is set to go live on Sunday at 11am.
The radio show hosted by Prime Minister Modi will be broadcast live at the UN headquarters in New York. In London, the Indian High Commission will also hold a special screening of the episode.
To celebrate the 100th episode of Mann Ki Baat, the BJP-ruled states have made elaborate arrangements. The program will be specially broadcast in the offices and booths of the BJP party.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Mann Ki Baat goes global and enters the century tomorrow. Don’t forget to become a witness to this historic broadcast as the Prime Minister connects directly with people across the globe,” the party said.
The Ministry of Tourism has announced a special action plan called “100 days of action” to commemorate the 100th episode of Mann Ki Baat. Under this action plan, the ministry challenges employers to develop substitutes for single-use plastic items.
The Ministry of Finance also announced the release of a 100 rupee stamp and coin to commemorate 100 episodes of Mann Ki Baat.
A study backed by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation said Mann Ki Baat’s radio address has been transformed into an “inspirational platform” encouraging sustainable progress on issues that are critical to India’s efforts to achieve the goals of sustainable development.
On Wednesday, Home Minister Amit Shah, while attending an event on Mann Ki Baat, said it is a unique experiment that has strengthened the foundations of democracy in India.
About ‘Mann Ki Baat’
The first episode of Mann Ki Baat aired on October 3, 2014, the year Prime Minister Modi took over.
The radio talk show airs on the last Sunday of every month, where Prime Minister Modi addresses the nation, speaking on issues of public concern, government policies and achievements.
The show not only highlights government actions, but also talks about meaningful citizen action in priority areas, while also encouraging listeners to get involved in change initiatives in their own communities.
