The Prime Minister has proposed a new set of national guidelines allowing close contacts in certain vital industries to be exempt from isolation if they are fully vaccinated and are COVID-19 asymptomatic.
Scott Morrison said the arrangements are approved by the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee and are currently awaiting endorsement from National Cabinet.
“The AHPPC has endorsed a new set of arrangements that relate to workers in critical supply chains, food processing, food production and distribution – as well as emergency services,” Mr Morrison said.
