Police issue major Andrew Epstein probe royal estate updates

Police have issued major updates about visits made to two royal estates by Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Jeffrey Epstein. It was reported by The Telegraph in 2011 that the paedophile financiar took a flight on a Gulfstream jet that landed at RAF Marham air base in Norfolk in December 2000, before spending time with the then Duke of York at Sandringham with Ghislaine Maxwell.

Former Prime Minister Gordon Brown demanded a police investigation into whether Andrew used taxpayer-funded jets and RAF bases to meet Epstein in February, according to reports. A photo is also included in the Epstein files, which shows Andrew lying on women’s laps with Maxwell, a convicted sex trafficker, standing behind them.

The Daily Mail reported in 2007 that Epstein stayed for a “weekend house party” at Sandringham. A Deutsche Bank portfolio alert for Epstein contained in the Department of Justice’s batch of files dated November 7, 2019 included “Sandringham, England, UNITED KINGDOM” in a list of addresses.

Now, police have said they have looked over material and concluded that there is no evidence that could spark a criminal probe. A Norfolk Police spokeswoman told the Express: “We have now completed our assessment of material connected to the release of documents by the US Department of Justice relating to the Epstein case.

“Following a review of the information brought to our attention, no evidence has been identified that would warrant a criminal investigation by Norfolk Constabulary, and no allegations have been received. As part of this process, we have worked with the national coordination group, which has been overseeing the review of material shared with policing across the UK to ensure a consistent approach.”

But, as regards concern about the possible use of RAF Marham, the spokeswoman said: “Documents relating to Ministry of Defence sites have been referred to and continue to be assessed by the national group. That work remains ongoing.”

It is also known that Epstein and Maxwell attended a joint birthday party at Windsor Castle and a shooting weekend organised by Andrew in 2000. The Epstein files contain documents suggesting that a “Super Dinner” was being organised at the castle in 2017 with Chinese businesspeople, and communications suggest Epstein was involved.

An email from him to “A. de Rothschild” read: “I know you hate london do want a dinner invite at windsor castle with the top Chinese. biz people? may 26.” An e-mail to hedge fund billionaire Glenn Dublin and wife Eva Dublin from Epstein sent in 2009 read: “fergie said she could organize tea in the buckingham palace apts.. or windsor castle.. she said you should call her directly„ this is seperate from seeing peter at Number 10.”

A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police did not confirm either way if officers were investigating Epstein and Maxwell visiting Windsor Castle and its estate. A spokesperson for the force said: “We cannot go into details of the investigation, but we are following all reasonable lines of enquiry.”

Andrew was arrested in February on suspicion of misconduct in public office. He was released after being questioned by cops, and has not been charged with any offences. He has denied any wrongdoing.

The Express understands that the investigation is ongoing and police are still looking at potential misconduct in public office. Searches have taken place at addresses in Berkshire and Norfolk. The alleged offence is broad and means there are a lot of passages officers can go down.
