State police are investigating after a Manchester man was struck and killed along Interstate 84, officials said.
Troopers with Troop C in Tolland responded to the report of a crash involving a pedestrian on I-84 East near Exit 85 in Vernon around 5:10 a.m. Saturday, police said. A 2010 Nissan Altima with a New York plate ran over a man, who was lying down in the travel lane for unknown reasons, state police said.
The man, identified as John Kaszowski, 65, died from his injuries, according to state police.
Th crash closed down the Eastbound side of the highway in Vernon for several hours Saturday morning. The highway has since reopened, according to the Connecticut Department of Transportation.
