Police shut major road after man armed with chainsaw shot

On Monday, a man was shot and seriously injured by Kent Police after weilding a chainsaw near The Park Gate Inn in Holingbourne. 

Plumber Sean O’Meara, 36, was wearing a gas-mask and body armour when he was shot. 

At least four suspicious devices were then found at the scene.

Police believed the suspect was holding an improvised firearm or improvised explosive device (IED).
