A high Hamas chief was killed Tuesday by a suspected Israeli strike in Beirut, in keeping with two Lebanese safety officers, elevating the specter of additional escalation in Israel’s struggle towards Palestinian militants within the Gaza Strip.
The blast killed Saleh al-Arouri, a founding father of the Hamas army wing and one in all its high political leaders, and a minimum of three different individuals, the officers mentioned. Hamas confirmed Arouri’s dying in a press release. The Israeli army declined to touch upon the explosion.
