PTI retains NA-33 seat in Hangu by-election | The Express Tribune

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has retained the National Assembly seat (NA-33) by securing victory in Hangu by-election held on Sunday, according to unofficial and unconfirmed results released by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

PTI candidate Dr Nadeem Khayal bagged 20,772 votes while JUI-F’s Mufti Obaidullah came second with 18,244 votes and ANP’s candidate Saeed Umar secured 3,314 votes.

Polling started at 8am and continued till 5pm without any interruption and no untoward incident was reported from the constituency.

The ECP had established a control room in the provincial election commissioner office in Peshawar to monitor and address complaints regarding the bye-polls.

NA-33 Hangu had fallen vacant due to the death of MNA Khial Zaman.
