Punjab to observe ‘Black Day’ for Kashmir tomorrow

Punjab Information and Culture Secretary Raja Jahangir Anwar has said that the provincial government has decided to observe a traditional black day on October 27 against the aggressive Indian occupation of Kashmir.

Presiding over a meeting of Kashmir Committee Punjab at the Civil Secretariat here on Tuesday, he said that protest rallies, walks and seminars would be organized across the province along with the federal government.

Raja Jahangir Anwar said that Chief Minister Sardar Usman Bazdar and Governor Punjab would also participate in the central program. He further said that banners, posters and promotional materials would be displayed on public places, public transport, media and social media. He said that the Punjab Information and Culture Department would also organize exhibitions of documentaries, paintings and photographs based on Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir.

“Ministers, parliamentarians and representatives of civil society will also participate in the programs organized at the divisional and district levels,” Raja added.

The Secretary Information and Culture said that the main purpose of celebrating Black Day was to send a powerful message to the world that the people of Punjab stand with the entire nation in support of the Kashmiri brothers in all respects.
