tamil superstar Rajinikanth arrived in Vijayawada on Friday to take part in the centenary celebrations for legendary actor and politician Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, popularly known as NTR. Nandamuri Balakrishna had earlier announced that his father’s centenary celebrations will be held in Vijayawada on April 28 and will be honored by Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N Chandrababu Naidu and Rajinikanth, who was seen at the airport. from Gannavaram today, where Balayya warmly received him.
He will attend the event scheduled for Friday night in the city. Balayya has invited fans to come out and join in the celebrations. The arrangements for the event are currently being taken care of by the Balayya team. He personally went to Vijayawada airport today to welcome Rajinikanth. Additionally, he gifted the superstar an orange shawl.
NTR, who enjoyed demigod status among Telugu-speaking people, was a legendary Tollywood actor. He acted in more than 300 movies and was known for playing mythological characters. NTR played Lord Krishna in more than 17 films including Krishnarjuna Yudham (1962) and Dana Veera Soora Karna. He entered politics in 1982 launching TDP under the slogan of self-respect and created something of a record by coming to power in nine months.
Born on 28 May 1923 in Andhra Pradesh, NTR served as the Chief Minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh from 1983 to 1989. He led the TDP back to power in a landslide victory in December 1994, but faced a revolt a few months later by His son-in-law. -law Chandrabu Naidu, who was unhappy with NTR’s second wife Lakshmi Parvathi’s interference in party and administrative affairs.
With the support of NTR’s children from his first wife, Naidu ousted NTR from power in September 1995. The TDP founder died of cardiac arrest on January 18, 1996.
