Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the new Foreign Policy Concept last Friday, according to which strengthening and deepening relations with China and India is a diplomatic priority for Russia.

Russia will focus on strengthening its strategic partnership and trade ties with India in Eurasia and ensuring its resistance to “destructive actions” by hostile states and their alliances, according to an updated foreign policy doctrine approved by Putin.

India-Russia ties remained strong despite Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine. India’s import of Russian crude has increased significantly in recent months despite growing concerns in many Western countries.

When asked about China’s reaction to Russia’s new foreign policy concept, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Mao Ning told a press conference here that “China, Russia and India are all major countries emergents with a notable influence”.

“As the international and regional landscape faces deep and complex changes, we stand ready to strengthen communication with the international community, including Russia and India, and send a positive signal to the world on upholding true multilateralism and joint response to the global challenges,” he said. .
