Renovated Udaipur Station, Expressways & More: PM Modi’s Rajasthan Tour To See Rs 5,500 Cr Worth Project Launch

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch development projects worth over Rs 5,500 crore in Rajasthan on Wednesday. He will also address a public rally organized by the party on Abu Road in the Sirohi district.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the focus of the projects will be to strengthen infrastructure and connectivity in the region. The OMP added that the road and railway works will facilitate the movement of goods and services, boost trade and improve the socioeconomic conditions of people in the region.

Details of the projects to be launched by PM Modi

• PM Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stones for the road construction projects for the upgrade to two lanes in Rajsamand and Udaipur and for the redevelopment of the Udaipur railway station.

• It will also lay the foundation stone for the gauge conversion project and to establish a new line from Nathdwara to Nathdwara town in Rajsamand.

• Modi will inaugurate three national highway projects, including the 114 km long, six lane Udaipur to Shamlaji section of NH-48, the widening and strengthening of the 110 km long 4 lane paved shoulder of the Bar section -Bilara-Jodhpur of NH-25, and 47 km long two-lane paved shoulder of NH 58E.

Features of the redeveloped Udaipur railway station

The redeveloped station is likely to have a renovated food court and waiting room. It will also have a children’s play area and equipment that will promote the city’s local products.

A place similar to the city center will be created for the citizens, with the station connected with all modes of transportation such as cars, taxis and bus stand. The station is expected to be built using green building technology. Special care will be taken in facilities for the disabled.

PM Modi will also visit the Shantivan complex

The prime minister will also visit the Shantivan compound of the Brahma Kumaris, a religious organization. The PMO noted that a special focus of the prime minister has been to push spiritual rejuvenation across the country.

He will lay the foundation stone for a global charitable super-specialty hospital, the second phase of the Shivmani Nursing Home and the extension of the nursing faculty. The hospital will be located on Abu Road, in an area of ​​50 acres. It will offer world-class medical facilities and will be especially beneficial to the region’s poor and indigenous people, he said.

BJP preparations for PM Modi’s visit

The Rajasthan BJP on Tuesday carried out a clean-up campaign in the town of Abu Road in Sirori district, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi is to address a public rally.

Before the visit, BJP officials and workers led by State Chairman CP Joshi collected brooms and cleaned the bus stand to deliver the message of cleanliness.

Joshi said that the Swachh Bharat Mission launched by Modi on October 2, 2014 has become a popular movement adding that it has now become the nature of people to collect brooms to clean streets and create a healthy environment around them.

A ‘Chai Pe Charcha’ event was also organized at Abu Road railway station where the BJP leader spoke about the Prime Minister’s visit. He also interacted with coolies, taxi drivers, local vendors and shopkeepers and invited them to the rally.

Rajasthan will go to the polls later this year.

Other projects launched by PM Modi in Rajasthan

In April, Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked Rajasthan’s first Vande Bharat Express. Prime Minister Modi had said that the Vande Bharat Express will benefit the tourism industry of Rajasthan immensely.

During the video conference launch, the PM also mocked Rajasthan Prime Minister Ashok Gehlot and his former deputy Sachin Pilot. “I am grateful to Gehlot Ji who took time for development work and attended the railway programme, despite the political tensions he is going through,” Modi said.

Prime Minister Modi’s comment came a day after Congress Leader and State Minister Sachin Pilot launched a one-day hunger strike against the Gehlot government to push for “inaction against corruption.”

Hours after the prime minister’s speech, Ashok Gehlot called his comments “unfortunate.” He said that Prime Minister Modi’s speech was delivered keeping in mind the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

“It was in the form of the BJP’s electoral agenda. I think such comments of yours will not be acceptable to the people of the state and compatriots,” Gehlot said.

Gehlot also accused the prime minister of “trying to reduce the importance of the Railways” by abolishing the separate railway budget.
