The Miami Heat are sending centre Dewayne Dedmon and a second-round pick to the rebuilding San Antonio Spurs in a move two days before the trade deadline, The Athletic’s Shams Charania reports.

Tuesday’s deal frees up a roster spot and creates more cap room for the Heat heading closer to the deadline.
Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press says cash considerations are coming to the Heat in the trade.
Dedmon is averaging 5.7 points and 3.6 rebounds for the Heat this season.
Since breaking into the league in 2013 with the Golden State Warriors, Dedmon has played for seven teams, including the Spurs in 2016-17.
In his 507-game career, Dedmon has averaged 6.4 points and 5.8 rebounds.
