Report: Jets owner does ‘whatever it takes’ to land Aaron Rodgers
ESPN’s Mike Greenberg appeared on “The Pat McAfee Show” and said the Jets are all-in and it’s all up to Rodgers.
ESPN’s Mike Greenberg appeared on “The Pat McAfee Show” Wednesday and said Jets owner Woody Johnson will do “whatever it takes” to trade for Aaron Rodgers. Greenberg added that having the owner, head coach, general manager and offensive coordinator fly to California to meet with Rodgers means the Jets are “all in” and the decision now rests solely with the Packers’ MVP quarterback. Ian Rapoport with NFL Network says he doesn’t expect a decision from Rodgers anytime soon about playing for the Jets. “Aaron Rodgers is quite thoughtful and likes to take his time to think and then discuss it publicly,” Rapoport said. Rapoport added that the Jets are the only outside suitor for Rodgers and that retirement is still on the table. Rodgers owes $60 million on his contract next season. The Packers must meet the salary cap by the start of free agency next Wednesday, March 15.
