Report: Trevor Bauer’s administrative leave to be extended through Sept. 3

Trevor Bauer‘s administrative leave from the Los Angeles Dodgers will reportedly be pushed back another week, according to MLB Network’s John Heyman, extending its end date to Sept. 3.

This extension will mark the seventh time Major League Baseball and the player’s union have lengthened Bauer’s leave since he was accused of sexual assault in late June.

Last week, a Los Angeles judge denied a five-year restraining order requested by a woman who said Bauer choked her into unconsciousness and punched her repeatedly during two sexual encounters.

The decision came after three days of wrenching testimony, in which the woman who accused Bauer detailed how her excitement and emotional connection with Bauer turned into pain, confusion and fear after their two meetings in April and May.

Bauer remains under investigation by MLB and the Pasadena Police Department.

Bauer, 30, last pitched for the Dodgers on June 28. He’s in the first year of a three-year, $102-million contract.
