Republican Senator Ron Johnson Tells a Great Story About Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton

Senator Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) dubiously claimed Sunday that the former president Donald Trump the prosecution of the opponent of the 2016 elections did not continue Hillary Clinton because “it was the best thing for the United States.” (Look the following video).

In a discussion with foxnews host Maria Bartiromo On “Sunday Morning Futures,” Johnson criticized Trump’s federal indictment alleging he mishandled classified government documents kept at Mar-a-Lago.

The far-right lawmaker accused the press of glossing over the Biden family’s business dealings before offering a severely distorted version of Trump.

“President Ford decided it was best for the United States not to impeach President Nixon,” Johnson said. “President Trump pretty much made the same decision and decided not to pursue any kind of prosecution of Hillary Clinton. Joe Biden He could have made the exact same decision, but he didn’t.

“He allowed a SWAT raid on a very secure residence of President Trump over federal records, even though he himself had classified records. So that registration issue should have been handled civilly. We shouldn’t even be in this place. But these are decisions President Biden made and he’s probably lying about not talking to the Justice Department at all. That’s pretty hard to believe when you understand how many other lies President Biden has told the public.”

Much of what he said does not pass a fact check.

Triumph tried to get special counsel to investigate Clinton, but it never happened, according to PolitiFact. The former president wanted Attorney General Jeff Sessions to prosecute Clinton for using a private email server when she was secretary of state.

Not to mention that the fbi previously recommended against impeaching Clinton in 2016, and a State Department investigation in 2019 found “there is no persuasive evidence of systemic and deliberate mismanagement of classified information” after he delivered tens of thousands of emails.

As for Biden’s decision-making in the Trump criminal case, Rep. Ted Lieu (D-Calif.) recently fact-checked Senator Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) on similar Republican allegations:

“Presidents don’t imprison or impeach anyone. Grand juries indict.”

Trump has also been indicted in New York on charges related to hush money payments to porn star Stormy Daniels. Trial has been scheduled for 2024.
