Rideshare driver threatened with knife in early morning carjacking

A rideshare driver narrowly escaped injury after he was threatened with a knife in brisbaneIt’s south early this morning.
The man had taken a job on Mains Road in sunnybank where he picked up two men from a local shopping center around 12:30 am.

But upon arrival, the driver was threatened with a knife and told to hand over the keys.

He complied and escaped unharmed after the two men drove off in their Kia Cerato.

About an hour earlier, also on Mains Road, another man was threatened by two men with a knife outside a convenience store.

The criminals demanded the 22-year-old’s keys and wallet, but he refused and ran from the scene, leaving his car behind.

He was not injured, but police found his car’s tires flat when they responded.

Investigators believe both incidents are connected and are appealing to any witnesses or anyone with a dashcam or CCTV video who may have been in the area at the time. come forward.
