The actor, speaking with â€œThe Tonight Showâ€ host Jimmy Fallon, noted how the crisis thatâ€™s now killed more than 115,000 people in the U.S. â€œcould have been avoided if Trump had listened to the people in the intelligence community.â€

â€œThey kept telling him something was coming,â€ De Niro said.

â€œWhat scares me is that people just were afraid to tell him the truth,â€ he continued. â€œIf you tell him the truth then heâ€™s gonna get mad at you and heâ€™s gonna let you go, and then what?â€
