Rush hour chaos as ‘police-led incident’ sparks closure on major motorway

The closure clockwise on the M60 between J5 and J6 is causing congestion along the route. 

Inrix, the traffic data company, said: “M60 clockwise closed, queueing traffic due to police incident between J3 A34 Kingsway and J7 A56 Chester Road (Stretford).

“Congestion to just after J1 (Stockport Pyramid), with traffic slowing on the opposite past the scene due to onlookers. The A5103 Princess Parkway is also stationary heading north on approach to J5.

“Cameras show the road is closed across all junctions for a police incident located between J5 and J6. Trapped traffic is being taken off at J5.”
