Russia blacklists 39 Brits, including Keir Starmer, David Cameron and Piers Morgan

Moscow has banned 39 British politicians, business people and journalists from entering Russian territory, in response to the U.K.’s support of Ukraine, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced Monday.

The list includes Labour Party leader Keir Starmer, former Prime Minister David Cameron, and journalists Piers Morgan and  Robert Peston.

The names were added to a list of over 200 British citizens, including Boris Johnson, Dominic Raab and Liz Truss, who are already banned from entering Russia.

In a statement, the Russian Foreign Ministry said these new sanctions were against Britons who “contribute to London’s hostile course aimed at demonizing of our country and its international isolation.”

“The choice in favor of confrontation is a conscious decision of the British political establishment, on which lies all responsibility for the consequences,” the statement said, along with a promise that “work on expanding the Russian ‘stop list’ will continue.”

Morgan responded on Twitter, saying that Russia “wasn’t on my immediate vacation to-do list.”

Moscow previously imposed a similar ban on U.S. President Joe Biden and top EU officials.
