Customers are being urged to check their kitchen cupboards and appliances after several products were recalled from Sainsbury’s. The Food Standards Agency (FSA) and the Chartered Trading Standards Institute (CTSI) issue recalls for various reasons, including undisclosed allergens in products or detected issues with the item.
When a product is recalled, the FSA and CTSI provide guidance on what to do if you’ve purchased the item, as well as detailed information on why it has been withdrawn from sale. In recent weeks, Sainsbury’s has removed several items from its shelves and issued warnings about the items, including one that could potentially start a fire due to a defect. The supermarket has also apologised to customers affected.
Sainsbury’s has been informed that Heineken is recalling the above product from its stores due to the potential presence of glass fragments.
Customers are advised not to consume this product and to return the unopened product to their local store for a full refund.
For any additional information, contact the Heineken consumer services team at consumercare@heineken. co.uk.
No other Heineken products have been affected by this issue. Heineken apologises for any inconvenience caused.
Sainsbury’s has been informed that Appletiser is withdrawing the aforementioned products, as they may contain heightened levels of chlorate.
Shoppers who have bought the aforementioned products are advised against consuming them and should return them to their local Sainsbury’s branch, where they will be given a complete refund.

Nutribullet has requested that Sainsbury’s alert shoppers about a product withdrawal affecting specific units of the rechargeable blender Nutribullet Go, model NGB-100.
A small number of units have been discovered to possess a battery defect that could trigger overheating whilst charging, creating a possible fire risk.
Shoppers should stop using the device immediately and verify whether they possess an affected item by locating the serial number on the blender’s base.
You can establish if your blender is potentially impacted, and if so, register to obtain a replacement product at no cost here.
Nutribullet stated: “We take the quality and safety of our products extremely seriously and would like to apologise to customers affected for any inconvenience this may cause. No other serial numbers are affected by this recall.”
Sainsbury’s has issued a product recall for three models of Tower-branded air fryers manufactured between January 2022 and April 2023.
A small number of units have been discovered to potentially contain a manufacturing defect that could cause the air fryer to overheat, posing a fire risk.
Customers are advised to stop using the item immediately and check if they own an affected product by locating the product number on the base of the air fryer.
Once you’ve confirmed your product is affected, visit the Tower website to see if the batch number indicates it’s part of the recall. If so, follow the instructions on how to return your faulty product.
Tower commented: “We take the quality and safety of our products extremely seriously and would like to apologise to customers affected for any inconvenience this may cause. No other batches are affected by this recall.”
