Sameer Wankhede makes ‘unsubstantiated allegations’ since booked for bribery: NCB sources to News18

Former Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Mumbai Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede, who recently produced alleged chats with actor Shah Rukh Khan over the arrest of his son Aryan Khan, has been making allegations unfounded since he was booked for allegedly demanding Rs 25 crore in drugs. in the case of the cruise ship, top NCB sources have told News18.

Aryan Khan’s statement in the case was recorded by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) at the RAF camp at Navi Mumbai in November 2021. His statement given by SIT has been included in the complaint.

Wankhede appeared before the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on day 2 of questioning in the bribery case. On Saturday, the CBI questioned Wankhede for more than five hours.

Sameer Wankhede approached the Bombay High Court on Friday against the CBI action against him in the alleged bribery case in the cruise drug case involving actor Shah Rukh Khan’s son, Aryan.

The Bombay High Court will hear the matter on May 22. Until then, the High Court has granted him protection from arrest.

Aryan Khan was arrested by the NCB on October 3, 2021, following the alleged seizure of drugs aboard the Cordelia cruise ship here. The high court granted him bail three weeks later, as the drug agency was unable to substantiate the charges against him.

The CBI alleged that the Mumbai area of ​​the NCB received information in October 2021 about the use and possession of narcotics by several people on the cruise ship, and some NCB officers conspired to obtain bribes from the defendants to instead of letting them out.
