Sanjay Raut flays Center for ‘failed demonetisation’, recalls PM Modi’s statement on being ‘publicly hanged’

Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut criticized the Union government on Sunday for the withdrawal of 2,000 rupee notes claiming that the two demonetizations imposed by the BJP-led Center have failed, while recalling that more than 3,000 people died in queues during the first demonetization exercise.

Raut also recalled Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement that he should be publicly hanged if demonetization fails. “Both BJP government-imposed demonetizations have failed… Between 3,000 and 3,500 people died due to the first demonetization decision while waiting in line at banks. Prime Minister Modi had said that demonetization will reduce inflation, corruption, black money and terrorism and all that. But nothing changed,” Raut said in Mumbai on Sunday.

“Instead, people lost jobs, businesses closed, and corruption, unemployment, black money, and inflation and even terrorism has increased. That means the demonetization failed. Prime Minister Modi had said that if demonetization failed, he should be publicly hanged. So now it has failed. What are you going to do? Where should he be hanged? They want us to send a rope,” said the leader of the Seine. Raut added that Modi played with the nation’s economy.

He also made an excavation in the Shiv Sena faction headed by the Chief Minister of Maharashtra eknath shinde saying that the MLAs had received 50 khokas (money boxes) in 2,000 rupee notes and since the RBI withdrew the notes, the Shinde faction was looking to exchange them. “Poor people don’t have 2,000 rupee notes. It is with those traitors. Now they are tense ”, attacked Raut.

Thackeray should say how many notes are buried and hidden on the farm,” Rane said.

Raut also challenged the BJP-led government to announce civic body elections. “Why is the government running away from the elections? Face the ballot box if you are so sure of winning the BMC election with 150 seats,” he said, taking aim at the BJP on its Mission 150 seats to the ballot box.

“Forget 150, we are going to lower the party to only 60 seats (in the BMC polls) if they announce and face the polls now,” said the main spokesman for the Seine (UBT).

He Rajya Sabha The deputy also asked the Center to clarify Why did Kiren Rijiju have to resign as Minister of Justice?. “Why did Kiren Rijiju have to resign? What was his mistake? Reveal it. You will have to clarify. If you’re not going to do it, then we will. Was it because of the way he pressured the judiciary? Who was pressing and in what case was the Judiciary being pressured ”, he sought to know.
