SARCOXIE, Mo. (KOAM) — Earlier this week the newly opened Love’s Travel Stop was visited by the Sarcoxie Area Chamber of Commerce and Mayor Debbie Royce.
In their hand? A ribbon to cut marking their recent opening.

Love’s General Manager Louis Niewald welcomed the crew. He has been with the company 8 years and moves from exit 4 Love’s in Joplin, Mo. to this new and larger Love’s at exit 29.
Brandy Miller-Turner of Children’s Miracle Network at Freeman Health System in Joplin, Mo. was also in attendance, bringing a balloon bouquet to add to the celebration.
“We could not do the work that we do without the support of our Corporate Partners, like Love’s. 100% of every dollar raised for CMN stays local to help children and their families right here in our community,” Miller-Turner tells KOAM.
“For more than 20 years, Love’s and Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN) have partnered to make a difference for sick and injured children and their families in the communities that we share. To date, Love’s has raised more than $40 million for the nonprofit.”

One of the ways to support CMN is through the continual ‘round it up’ campaign where store patrons can round up to the nearest dollar and donate that change to CMN.
Love’s has a genuine belief in their people as expressed by GM Niewald. He introduced those gathered to Brooke, 24, the General Manager of their Arby’s restaurant.
“She has been with us four years. She started out as an overnight cashier,” he says. “Anyone working on our team today can be in a career position.”
“She became a shift lead, an operations manager and then started applying for general manager roles. And now she is the General Manager of Arby’s leading 25 to 28 employees. The reason I say that there is opportunity with Love’s.”

Sarcoxie Mayor Debbie Royce then cut the ribbon amidst applause, Welcome to Sarcoxie Love’s!

Later this year they anticipate opening a new Love’s Travel Stop in Jasper, Mo. It will feature a Subway and Dunkin’ Donuts and also employ about 70 local people.
