Savannah Guthrie taunted by another sick ransom note – as mother Nancy now missing for 65 days

Savannah Guthrie has received another set of ransom notes for her missing mother Nancy.

Nancy Guthrie, the mother of the Today show host, has been missing for 65 days after she was taken from her Arizona home.

Several ransom notes have been sent to the Guthrie family, requesting money be sent through a Bitcoin wallet.

TMZ has now received two new ransom notes, with one claiming to have previously seen Nancy alive.

The note said: “I saw her alive with them in the state of Sonora Mexico.”

Sonora borders Arizona and is about 100 kilometres from Tuscon, where Nancy was abducted on February 1.

But in a sick twist, the sender of the note claimed Nancy is now dead.

The ransom note has been sent to the FBI – though agents do not believe it to be legitimate.

This is because the Bitcoin wallet has received no deposits since it was opened in February.

The first letter said: “It’s unbelievable that millions have been wasted and yet here I am willing to deliver them on a silver platter since the 11th of february for a bitcoin but I am disregarded as a scam.

“They are free and the case is frozen but the ego’s remain hot when it comes to me. Arrogance at it’s finest.”

One Bitcoin is equivalent to £52,015.93 as of April 6, down from its £71,854.77 high in January.

The ransom note writer claims they will give up the information they have for half a Bitcoin, then be given the second half of a Bitcoin after a public arrest.

In their second note, they claim they are not motivated by greed or financial gain.

They wrote: “I just want whats fair and to live peacefully with enough to start my life again quietly with out having to join a witness protection program.”

From their February note, they claimed they knew the name of the “individual involved” and added “time is more than relevant”.

On April 6 Savannah returned to NBC’s Today programme for the first time since her mother’s kidnapping over two months ago.

Briefly addressing her absence, she said: “It is good to be home.”

There is currently a $1million reward being offered by the Guthrie family for information submitted to the FBI leading to the recovery of Nancy.

The FBI is still investigating mixed DNA found at the scene, but previous DNA examination did not find any genetic matches in existing databases.
