FAA issues ground stop for BWI-Marshall ground stop due to thunderstoms

Julian Nazario

The Federal Aviation Administration issued a ground stop at Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport until 6:30 p.m. due to the severe weather affecting the Baltimore metro area.

A ground stop is a measure taken by air traffic control to halt flights destined for an airport at their point of origin, usually for weather-related issues.

The FAA could extend the ground stop if the severe weather continues.
