Shots fired by police in Green Township after suspect leads officers on chase from Westwood

GREEN TOWNSHIP, Ohio —

The Cincinnati Police Department says that a suspect led officers on a chase across multiple jurisdictions late on Saturday afternoon, culminating in shots being fired by police in Green Township.

According to CPD, officers responded to a report of an attempted abduction along Boudinot Avenue in Westwood at approximately 4 p.m. on Saturday.

Officers then responded to the scene and attempted to apprehend the suspect. However, the suspect is reported to have promptly fled the area in a vehicle, causing officers to give chase.

The pursuit eventually ended less than an hour later on Werk Road near the intersection with South Road. The area is just outside of Our Lady of Visitation School in Green Township.

According to CPD, at least one officer discharged their firearm near the school.

It was not immediately clear if the suspect was hit by the gunfire, however police say that the suspect now remains hospitalized as a result of injuries that he suffered in the chase.

The victim abducted by the suspect also reportedly remains hospitalized. The extent of their injuries also remains unclear.

No officers were reported to have been injured in the incident.
