Single ticket bought in Melbourne wins $60 million Powerball jackpot

A mystery person in Melbourne is leaving lockdown restrictions $60 million richer than everyone else after winning the Powerball jackpot tonight.

The single winning entry in the lottery draw was purchased in the Victorian capital, which sees COVID-19 restrictions ease at 11.59pm after becoming the longest locked down city in the world during the pandemic.

The winning numbers in Powerball draw 1327 on Thursday, October 21, 2021 were 7, 17, 11, 28, 30, 2, 27. The Powerball number was 11.

The new mega millionaire remains a mystery, lottery officials The Lott said.

The winning entry was sold from a Tatts outlet in inner Melbourne — but officials have avoided saying any more.

“Someone has become an overnight multi-millionaire just as the city’s lockdown ended but possibly doesn’t know it yet,” The Lott spokesperson Ally Ramsamy said.

“We can’t wait for them to discover this winning news. Just imagine how $60 million might change your life and the lives of your nearest and dearest.

“There are 60 million reasons why all Melbourne players who had an entry in tonight’s draw should check their ticket immediately.

“If you discover you’re holding the division one winning entry, hold on tight to that ticket and phone 131 868 as soon as possible so that we can start the prize claim process.”
