“Although water is a subject very close to our hearts, when we discuss water management and conservation, we tend to forget the methods and solutions used by our previous generations. However, if we want to engage in sustained efforts in the field of water conservation, we need skilled and trained manpower,” said Dr. Nitin Karmalkar, former Vice Chancellor of Savitribai Phule Pune University.
He was speaking at the closing function of ‘Jaldoot 2.0’, a three-day pilot initiative organized by the NGO Sevavardhini.
Jaldoot is a Sevavardhini pilot project in the field of water conservation. The organization is actively involved in many Jaldoot related projects in 25 villages in Maharashtra for the past 13 years.
