OBREZJE, Slovenia, Oct 21 (Reuters) – Slovenia on Saturday deployed police on border crossings with Croatia and Hungary to forestall potential safety threats, resulting in queues as travellers waited to have their paperwork checked.

The Slovenian authorities had on Friday determined to introduce non permanent border controls till Oct. 30, following its neighbour Italy which launched controls on its border crossing with Slovenia to enhance dwelling safety.

Police have been deployed on 14 border crossings with Croatia and Hungary, Slovenian information company STA reported. The remaining 18 crossings is not going to have a everlasting police presence.
