Mr. Dinner, 30, who grew up in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Simsbury, Conn., is a senior associate at AllianceBernstein, a Nashville-based asset management firm. He has a bachelor’s degree in finance from Manhattanville College in Purchase, NY.
On November 20, 2021, Mr. Dinner leased LA Jackson, a rooftop bar and restaurant at the Thompson Nashville hotel, for a private proposal. Subsequently, he surprised Ms. Berkman with an engagement party with her closest friends and family at Virgin Hotels Nashville.
“My friend invited me to a fake event in Nashville, an invitation I initially declined until my other friends and my sister convinced me I should go,” Ms. Berkman said.
As the elevator doors opened to the rooftop, “I heard Harry Styles’ ‘Adore You,’” recalled Berkman. “Then, I see that the hall is filled with flower petals and candles.”
The two got married on May 27 in the backyard of her parents’ house. “It’s where our story unfolded,” Ms. Berkman said. “There’s something really nostalgic and sweet about getting married there.”
Shana Goldstein-Mackler, Ms. Berkman’s childhood rabbi of the Ohabai Sholom Temple Congregation in Nashville, officiated. Some 140 guests attended, and a reception followed at the 5th & Taylor restaurant.
The best moment of the night, Dinner said, was when Berkman read his vows to him: “He finally admitted that I’m funny.”
