Southeast Asia hit hardest as Q2 start-up funding falls across Asia

Startup fundraising in key Asian markets — Southeast Asia, India and Greater China — fell in the second quarter of this year, compared with a year earlier, according to data from DealStreetAsia.

Weakness in the June quarter does not bode well for 2023 fundraising as a whole. Data compiled by DealStreetAsia’s Data Vantage shows that in Southeast Asia and India, cumulative funding in the entire first half of this year was lower than in the first quarter of 2022.
