Stuck for cash: Hefty UK woman cashes in on ‘jammed in doorways’ videos

Danielle Birch from Plymouth, South England, is making money in a quite unique way… Birch, who weighs almost 227kg, earns $2 846  (approximately R44 000) per month selling videos of herself getting stuck in doorways. She also gets paid for videos of herself standing next to smaller people.

She told news.com.au her videos are “non-pornographic” and say they’re for men to admire bigger women.

DANIELLE’S VARIETY OF CONTENT

Content creator and former chef Danielle Birch’s videos are straightforward and simple. She will either get stuck in a doorway, show how she gets into cars or try on cute outfits.

She emphasised that there is nothing pornographic about her videos.

“Sometimes I may wear a sexy outfit but I never do rude things or get naked,” she told news.com.au.

The 25-year-old charges $5.48 (approximately R84) for videos of herself trying on an outfit and $13.80 (R212) for 20-minute videos.

“Another video could involve squashing a smaller man or sitting in a hot tub causing the water to overflow,” she mentioned.

THE ‘FREEDOM’ OF DANIELLE’S  UNIQUE BUSINESS VENTURE

Birch says her videos are not for everyone. After hiding her body for years, she finally feels comfortable in her own skin.

“I used to hate how I look but now I have a different outlook on it.”

After 10 years as a chef, she does not see herself going back and finds freedom in her new business venture.

“Now, I can use my weight to my advantage and make money. I can’t see myself going back to my job as a chef as it was long 16 hour days. Selling videos online gives me so much more freedom.”

ONLINE TROLLS AND POSITIVITY

Danielle has received some nasty comments from people online. Some have said she looks “like a piece of meat” while others accused her of promoting obesity.

“I know this weight isn’t healthy but at the moment, I am fine with no underlying medical conditions.”

The out-of-the-box content creator says she has received lovely messages from women.

“I think positive and uplifting comments are going to help more. If I can empower just one woman to feel better about herself then I will take the insults, I am not bothered.”
