Supermoon illuminates the sky across Northern California

The largest supermoon of this year peaked early Thursday morning in Northern California.The full Hunter’s moon for the month of October is also the largest full moon of the year, based on its proximity to the earth. This full moon looks about 14% larger than normal and is visible to the naked eye. While the moon will be shrinking down over the next few days, you can still see it nearly full over the next few evenings. The best way to view it is by looking East as the moon rises.In the Sacramento region, the moonrise is at 6:31 p.m. Thursday night.
