Suspect in Kandivali sacking case held at UP

Kandivali police have arrested a man in Uttar Pradesh for his alleged role in a shooting incident, in which a 32-year-old man was shot dead on Sunday.

However, the police have not confirmed the arrest as they are in the process of taking him to Mumbai and determining his involvement. The motive for the attack has yet to be determined.

Manoj Chauhan, a resident of the Laljipada slum, was shot at around 7:45 am on Sunday near Link Road, Laljipada area of ​​Kandivali West.

In CCTV footage police recovered from the area, the assailant is seen walking behind Chauhan, pulling out a firearm and shooting him from a distance of 4 to 5 feet. The bullet hit Chauhan in the head and he collapsed to the ground. People rushed him to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival, police said.

“Preliminary investigation indicates that a firearm was used in the crime. Chauhan used to work in a jewelry unit. The reason for the incident is still unknown. We are looking into the matter,” a police officer said.

When asked about the arrest, DCP (Zone 11) Ajay Bansal said details of the investigation cannot be revealed at this stage.
